The main objectives of the ISO/IEC 17025 assessment program and the course conducted by VINTECOM International include a strong focus on technical management in the laboratory according to ISO/IEC 17025, including aspects such as measurement uncertainty, precision, repeatability and reproducibility, and quality management of the laboratory:
✅ The objectives of the technical management assessment in the laboratory include:
1. Assess the determination and control of measurement uncertainty
Check whether the method for determining measurement uncertainty complies with the GUM guidelines.
Evaluate the completeness and accuracy of factors affecting measurement uncertainty.
Review how measurement uncertainty is reported and used in test results.
2. Verify the accuracy of measurements and test results
Evaluate the implementation of calibration and periodic testing of measuring equipment.
Identify factors affecting accuracy and how to control them.
Compare measurement results with other laboratories or reference values.
3. Verify the repeatability and reproducibility of the measurement method
Evaluate the stability of the measurement method when repeated under the same conditions (repeatability).
Verify the consistency of results when performed by different personnel or in different laboratories (reproducibility).
Analyze systematic and random errors affecting repeatability and reproducibility.
4. Evaluate the quality management system according to ISO/IEC 17025
Verify compliance with the technical and management requirements of ISO/IEC 17025.
Evaluate documentation, equipment management procedures, calibration, and maintenance.
Checking personnel competency, training, and measurement capabilities.
5. Recommending improvements and ensuring continuity of the technical management system
Identify weaknesses and recommend corrective actions.
Make recommendations for improvements in measurement methods, equipment, and procedures.
Evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions and improvements to improve laboratory quality.
